There are no rules, no set services, no time restrictions. It’s all about you two. Sharing your love story with whoever your guests may be. It is an opportunity for you to declare your permanent love and commitment to your gorgeous partner in your own way.

Think about what you would say to them, what promises you would make about your relationship, what hopes you have for your future together. Think how you could turn that into your ever so personal vows.

Then have a think about elements of ritual you might like to include...

Choose music you love and maybe a reading or poem to be delivered by a dear friend. You could play a game of Mr and Mrs if you fancy? Include whatever elements you like. It will be unique to you.

Currently celebrant led weddings are not legally binding in England so you also need to register your marriage with a registrar but that can be done quickly and inexpensively, leaving you time to celebrate your special day in the style you desire.

What to expect from me...

Well, let’s start by having a chat. You have to be happy that you are booking the right celebrant for you – we’re not all the same after all. We will talk about some of your plans and get to know each other a little.

Have a bit of a think. I won’t hassle you!

If you do decide to book me (yay and woop and hurrah) I will send over a booking form, a contract for you to sign and an initial invoice to cover the booking fee. All a bit dull I’m afraid, but necessary.

We will arrange another chat, preferably in person this time but obviously phone or zoom is do-able if in person isn’t possible. We will talk about more details for your special day and elements that you would like to include. I’ll find out lots more about you as I’m a nosey creature!

I’ll send you a questionnaire to complete. Each one of you will complete one and it’s best done separately from each other. It’s not like beastly homework though, I promise.

I will start writing your ceremony and keep going until it is complete. At this point I will ask for the second payment of your fee before I send over this first draft.

You get a chance to go through the ceremony and change anything you aren’t keen on. I’m not precious about my writing and really won’t be offended if you want to make changes.

Once you are happy, the script will get signed off.

The final payment for my Celebrant services is due 28 days prior to your wedding day.

We will keep in contact throughout the process. There are no silly questions...

On the day before the ceremony, we will have a rehearsal at the venue (if possible) so you won’t be worried about the logistics of the ceremony.
